EXPLORE AN INCREDIBLE NEW WORLD

Come Diving with Us

Did you know that diving in the Bay Islands is considered some of the best in the world? Lonely Planet called it 'one of the top ten places in the world' to take a dive course, National Geographic named Utila as having the most accessible and pristine water in the world, and Divers International exclaimed that if you want to see the greatest diversity of sea life for the best value, you should come to the Bay Islands.

We know that it's our little oasis of paradise, where you can learn to dive in pristine waters abundant with fish, sea creatures and gorgeous coral at prices that can compete globally. And that sounds pretty good to us too.

Discover Scuba Diving
1 Day

Start taking your first breaths underwater right away! Try it out first before committing to a full certification course or if you are short on time on your holiday. Your experience includes a detailed briefing from an experienced Instructor, followed by a few brief skills right off of our private dock, in shallow water. You can then choose to do one or two dives under the direct supervision of the instructor to a maximum depth of 12m / 40ft. We can conduct the dives on our beautiful house reef, but to get the most of the experience, we recommend diving off of our boat at two different dive sites.

FAQs

Anything else you could possibly want to know before you come.

IS DIVING DANGEROUS?
As with any adventure sport, some risk is involved. Humans are not built to breathe underwater, which means that every time a diver descends, they are completely dependent upon their equipment, skills, and emergency training to ensure that they surface safely. However, it should encourage divers to approach the sport with an appropriate amount of respect. Scuba diving is not dangerous as long as divers learn thorough training, follow safe diving guidelines, use proper gear, and dive within their experience level. At Utila Cays Diving, our safety record is 100%. We are proud to have NEVER had a guest be injured in any way while diving.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED TO HAVE?
The only experience you need is the experience that you seek. We offer courses with just 15 minute of ‘skill instruction’ to full courses that run 4 days for full certification. At the start of the courses we brief you with EXACTLY what you need to do and know so you don’t have to worry! You can also rest assured that after your course, you will be fully skilled and qualified to conduct dives anywhere in the world within the scope of your training.

HOW QUALIFIED ARE YOUR DIVE INSTRUCTORS?
Probably some of the most qualified instructors on the island! All of our staff have spent hundreds if not thousands of dives along our reefs and know the dive sites inside out. You will always get the best instructors and dive masters at Utila Cays Diving because we pay the highest wages in Utila…we don’t skim on professionalism and safety.

WHAT IF I AM NOT SURE IF I WANT TO DIVE?
No worries! Just try a Discover Scuba Diving or Try Scuba experience and see if it’s for you! It’s just a ½ day and if it’s not for you, you haven’t lost much time! But if you fall in love with it, you’re already a step closer to completing your Open Water Certification! EASY!

DO YOU OFFER COURSES FOR BEGINNERS?
Absolutely! Our Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water Certification are for people that have had NO experience diving at all! We make sure you have all the knowledge, the best equipment and the best instruction to build you into a happy and confident diver!

WHAT MIGHT I SEE WHEN DIVING?
Dolphins (wild and free dolphins!!!), eagle rays, sting rays, green moray eels, lots of other eels and CROSS-YOUR-FINGERS for WHALESHARKS!!!! Since we are the closest shop to the north side, we get an early ‘heads up’ from the local fisherman about when the whalesharks come down to play! If you want to see the largest fish in the ocean, you have to be close and ready to go at any moment!

HOW CAN WE PAY FOR OUR DIVING?
You can pay your deposit via PayPal (cheapest option for both parties) and your balance in cash or credit card (via paypal with a 5% processing fee). If you don’t bring enough money and still want to pay in cash, not to worry, we have two ATMs in Utila Town!

I STILL HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS..
Of course!!! We are standing by to answer ANY questions you may have!!! We will ALWAYS get back to you within 24-hours! Just email us at info@utilacaysdiving.com.
